UK entry revealed on March 3
London, United Kingdom - There are only a handful of countries left to reveal the details of their 2014 entry, and one of them is a member of the so called Big Five, and that is the United Kingdom entry. We can now reveal that the details will be announced by the BBC in a special show to be broadcast here on Eurovision.tv on Monday, the 3rd of March at 20:25 CET and on the Red Button service for viewers in the UK.
Weeks of speculation will come to an end, when in a short 12 minute programme on Monday the 3rd of March the artist and the song that will be performed in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom will finally be known.
First broadcast worldwide
Viewers across the world will also be able to see the exclusive first worldwide broadcast of the song, here on Eurovision.tv at the same time as the programme is being shown to viewers via their Red Button service in the United Kingdom.Factfile:
- The United Kingdom has won Europe's Favourite TV show an impressive five times, in 1967, 1969, 1976, 1981 and in 1997.
- They have finished in second place an astonishing 15 times, the last time was in 1998.
- The BBC has staged the contest no less than eight times, more than any other broadcaster.
- Amongst the famous names who have represented the country are Matt Monro, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton-John and the Shadows.
