About Cristina Scarlat

Cristina was born on March 3rd, 1981 into a family with traditional music roots. From an early age, music was Cristina’s constant companion. She plays piano and violin. Cristina’s first education was a chorister and a conductor. But her vocal abilities motivated her to continue her studies as a vocalist. In 2006, Cristina graduated from the Moldovan music conservatory.

Chisinau, Moldova - All roads lead to Rome and all this year's national selections - to Copenhagen. Tonight, Cristina Scarlat won the Moldovan final in Chisinau and thus she will continue her journey to Denmark where the singer is going to perform her Wild Soul!

Tonight, the Moldovan final show O Melodie Pentru Europa took place in Chisinau. This really exciting show was opend by the national show ballet Free Dance. Aliona Moon, last year's Moldovan representative, sang on stage her Eurovision entry O Mie.

The show was presented by Iurie Gologan and Olivia Furtună, with reports from the green room by Vlad Ardovan and Daniela Babici. The presenters announced the televoting opened before the first entry.

Cristina Scarlat has convinced the professional jury and the TV viewers with her entry powerful song Wild Soul. She got 10 points from the TV viewers and 12 points from the professional jury, and thus reached the first place. The music of Wild Soul has been composed by I. Aculov and C. Bucătaru. The lyrics has been writen by L. Scarlat. Boris Coval came second in tonigh's show.

Moldova: Results of the second semi-final

Chisinau, Moldova - The second semi-final is just over in the Studio 2 in Chisinau. Seven of eight qualifiers were chosen by a 50/50 combination of televoting and the votes of an expert jury tonight. The public solely voted for the eighth artist and sent Margarita & Metafora to the final.

The second televised show was broadcast live from Studio 2 of the public broadcaster TRM. It was presented by Nicu Turcanu and Djulieta Ganu. The opening act of tonight's second semi-final in Moldova was the dance performance of the show ballet Free Dance.
Eight of twelve acts reached the Moldovan national selection that will take place this Saturday. Here is the result of tonight's show (in order of appearance, qualifiers in bold):

Moldova: Results of the first semi-final

Chisinau, Moldova - Tonight, in the first semi-final in Moldova, Eurovision fans could definetly find music that suited their tastes - the 12 candidates presented different genres from rock and pop with folk elements to beautiful touching ballads. Eight singers proceeded to the national final. On 13th of March, during the 2nd semi-final, another 12 singers will take the challenge to fight for a place in the national final on March 15th.

The Moldovan show ballet Studio Class opened the first semi-final. Tonight's show was presented by Evelina Vîrlan and Sergiu Bețnitchi. They announced the order of appearence of the participants on stage and the voting rules.
In tonight's show, the candidates entered the stage in the following order (qualifiers in bold):

The seven competitors have been chosen by a joint 50/50 decision of the professional jury and televoting. The 8th hopeful, PARALELA 47, was selected only by the public, within the televoting and was announced after the show. After the seven finalists have been announced, they drew their running order under which they would sing in the final: Doinița Gherman (2), Boris Covali (3), Ana Cernicova (7), FLUX LIGHT (9), Diana Brescan (12), Felicia Dubaf (16).

Among tonight’s guests there were national stars Gicu Cimbir, Irina Kitoroagă, Karizma and Christina Croitoru. Geta Burlacu, the participant in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, and Nelly Ciobanu, who took part in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, performed for the audience. Pasha Parfeni entertained the public with his Eurovision entry from 2012 Lăutar.

Aliona Moon represented Moldova in Malmö last year.

Chisinau, Moldova - TRM, the Moldovan broadcaster has announced the list of 40 candidates who applied for the Moldovan national selection. The competitors still have a long way to the final show on the 15th of March: the eliminating round on the 1st of February and two semi-finals on the 11th and 13th of March.

For the 40 Moldovan singers, it’s a dream to take part in the national selection and to get the ticket to Copenhagen. But before, they have to demonstrate all their musical and artistic skills in front of an expert jury during the live auditions. This eliminating round will take place on the 1st of Febraury at the Radio House starting at 12:00 CET. The list of 40 candidates will be eliminated to 24.

The semi-finals will take place on March 11th and 13th. From each show, 7 or 8 contestants will proceed to the national final. They will be chosen by the joint decision of an expert jury and the televoting.

Last year, Aliona Moon represented Moldova with her beautiful song O Mie. She achieved 11th place in the Grand Final.
