Three music videos recorded

For the last few weeks Mei has been working very hard preparing, incluidng recording music videos for each of the three songs, all of which will be broadcast across of all IBA's channels (TV, radio and internet) from the 27th of February until the evening of the National Final on the 5th of March. When asked about the filming, Mei said:
“I didn’t realise the fact that we shot three videoclips in one week. It was very challenging and interesting. Facing a project like this is more different than anything I knew, as decisions must be made right away and without a plan B, but this was very magical as well. The whole team gave its heart and soul to this project and the work was very professional and fun. Every location turned right away to a place of joy and laughter. The final results are being prepared right now in the editing rooms and I can’t wait to let the public hear the songs and watch the videoclips. I hope that everyone will be pleased, just like me.”
The video for Nish'eret iti was filmed at the Israeli Railway Museum in Haifa, inside an old train. Meanwhile the video for Same Heart was shot at the Hameginim Forest just outside Jerusalem and in an abandoned industrial complex. Be Proud was recorded at the Reading Power Station in Tel-Aviv.

The public will decide

This year, unlike 2013, only the general public will have a say as to which song will represent Israeli at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Jerusalem, Israel - The Israeli broadcaster, IBA, has announced that Mei Feingold has been chosen internally to represent Israel at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.
After holding a large national selection last year, IBA decided this year to downsize this and instead went for an internal selection where three artists were all in contention for the coveted honour of representing their country in Denmark in May.
Also in the running were Maya Buskila and Ela Doron, but in the end the IBA committe went with Mei Feingold, who has had a successful career at home in Israel.

A private national final

IBA have informed us that a private national selection will take place for Mei, with three songs in the run. These will partly be submitted by Mei herself, with further contributions coming from the public.
Mei Feingold participated in the final of the Israeli idol show Kochav Nolad, where former Israeli representatives Shiri Maimon (2005), Boaz Mauda (2008) and Harel Ska'at (2010) took part as well. She also plays in several musicals and was the solist of the band Limousine Express.
Yitzhack Sonnenshine, the Israeli HoD, said about the selection of Mei: "I would like to thank all committee members and the IBA representatives who are the best in the local music industry. I believe in our choice and wish the best of luck to Mei Feingold. The main mission is now in front of us, which is selecting the song that will represent Israel in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest".
You can see a video of Mei performing the song Mexsico below to get a taste of what she is about:

Israel will take part in one of the two Semi-Finals of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest being held on the 6th and 8th of May at the B&W-Hallerne on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, Denmark. The final will be held on the 10th of May.
In Malmö last year, Moran Mazor failed to qualitify to the Grand Final, with her song Rak bishvilo.
